Another Brantford man who went into action with the first draft from the first Brant County Battalion is today reported ill in the person of Private Charles Hoffman, of 175 Wellington Street. Word was received in a letter from himself that he was in a London hospital suffering from poisoning in both legs. Word was never received here to the effect that he was ill. Before enlisting he was a painter for A. Osborne and R.C. Chave.
