A.H. Etheridge Dies in Hospital

Arthur Hall Etheridge, a resident of Brantford for 44 years and well known in veteran and fraternal circles, died today in the Brantford general Hospital.

Mr. Etheridge was born in Durham County, England, 73 years ago and came to Brantford in 1912.  He had been employed at the Watson Manufacturing Company since, being a foreman designer.

He served with the 215th Battalion in the First World War and was a member of the Canadian Legion.

His fraternal interest centered in Free Masonry.  He was a member of Reba Lodge, A.F. and A.M. Mount Horeb Chapter, RAM, Odo de St. Amand Preceptory, KT the Brantford Shriner Club, and Mocha Temple, London.  He was also active in the Conservative Party here.

Mr. Etheridge is survived by his widow, the former Grace Crave, 34 Burwell Street; two sons, Norman Etheridge, King, Ont. And Clifford Etheridge, Woodstock; four grandchildren and a brother, Albert, Yorkshire, England.

Mr. Etheridge will rest at the Beckett Funeral Home from Thursday noon until Friday for service at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Ground.

The funeral of Arthur Hall Etheridge, 34 Burwell Street, was conducted Friday afternoon at the Beckett Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Smith, Grace Anglican Church, officiating.  There was a large attendance, including representatives of the Free Masonry, Brantford Shriners Club and Watson Manufacturing Co.  The pallbearers were W. Prior representing Branch 90 Canadian Legion.  A Baker, representing Brantford Shriners Club, E. Tribble, H. Moore, J. Buchanan and T. Neilson, all representing Watson’s.  Interment was in the family plot in Farringdon Burial.
