Albert Shoard

The death occurred in the Brantford General Hospital this morning of Albert Shoard, 52 years of age.  Born in England, he had lived in Canada for the last 28 years.  He enlisted in the 215th Battalion, served overseas, but as a result of war service had not been in the best of health since returning home in 1918.  The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon from Beckett’s Funeral Home, with interment in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.

Albert Shoard

The funeral of the late Albert Shoard was continued yesterday from Beckett’s Funeral Home with interment in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.  E.W.J. Hunt, Lay Reader of St. Jude’s Church, officiated at the service.  Comrades of the Canadian Legion, John McMillan, J. Hayes, C. Webb, M. Foran, W. Hall and McCreary were pallbearers and Comrade H. Porter sounded the “Last Post,” at the graveside.
