Albert Harvey Shingler

PORT ROWAN – Albert Harvey Shingler, 75 of Port Rowan, died Monday in Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe.  Born in Hamilton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey Shingler, he had been a farmer most of his life.  He was a veteran of the First World War, having served overseas for four years. Surviving are his wife, the former Violet Karey; a son, Wilfred of Galt; a daughter, Mrs. Reginald (Olive) Logan of Wilsonville; a brother, Oliver of Ancaster, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  His first wife, Charlotte, died in 1954, a son William of Scotland, predeceased him.  Funeral service was at 1 p.m. today in Clark Funeral Home, Port Rowan.  Rev. M. Redvers Brown of Port Rowan United Church officiated.  Interment was in Mount View Cemetery, Galt.
