Albert Edward Marcham
The death of Albert Edward (Busty) Marcham, 98 West Colborne Street, took place Friday evening at the Brantford General Hospital in his seventy-second year. Deceased was born at Aldworth, Berkshire, England, coming to Canada 35 years ago, and residing in Brantford ever since. He was a member of the 125th Battalion, and served overseas with that unit in the last war, receiving medals for service and being made a pensioner of the Imperial Army. Mr. Marcham was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and the Sons of England. He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Miss Helen Marcham, Toronto, and Mrs. W. Bisset, Brantford; three sisters, Mrs. B. Hobbs and Mrs. G. Harding, in England, and Mrs. George Baker, Windsor, and four brothers, Arthur, Walter, Frank and James Marcham, all in England. His wife predeceased him 18 years ago. Mr. Marcham is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home until Monday afternoon, when the funeral service will take place in St. John’s Anglican Church. Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Albert E. Marcham, 98 West Colborne Street, was conducted Monday afternoon with a private service at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, followed by a public service at St. John’s Anglican Church. Rev. T.A. Madden officiated, and T. Davidson presided at the organ. Members of the Brantford Branch of the Canadian Legion, 125th Battalion and the Sons of England were represented, and there were numerous floral tributes. The pallbearers were H. Twidale and G. Bisset, representing the Canadian Legion; J. Welsh and P.W. Marks, representing the 125th Battalion, and W.J. Houison and J.G. Godfrey representing the Sons of England. Interment was in the Soldiers Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery, where local veterans deposited poppies on the grave.
