Military Cross for Major James Henry Lovett, Paris Officer – Rose From a Private in the 79th Canadians And Now is Decorated
PARIS, Oct. 7. Dr. Lovett received word yesterday that his brother, Major James Henry Lovett, had been awarded the Military Cross for bravery on the field. Major James Lovett enlisted as a private in the 79th Canadian Highlanders at Winnipeg, and has gradually risen in the ranks since. At present he is attached to the 13th Canadian Highlanders. Major Lovett is well-known in Paris, having attended the high school here for some time, and also played on the hockey team for a couple of seasons. His many friends will extend hearty congratulations.
