Benjamin Norcliffe, of 54 Burwell Street, has received official word from Ottawa that his son, Private Herbert Norcliffe, who went overseas with the first overseas battalion, Dufferin Rifles, has been wounded and admitted to the 30th General Military Hospital at Calais on May 4. Private Norcliffe, prior to enlistment, was an employee of the Slingsby Mills here.
