Details: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in carrying despatches on frequent occasions under rifle and shell fire. He carried despatches in daylight through places which were considered too dangerous to allow other ranks to use.

Albert Dore

PARIS, Albert Dore, 62, died suddenly Tuesday at his home, 93 Dumfries Street. Born in England he had resided in Paris for the last 43 years. He was a member of St. James’ Anglican Church and the Paris branch of the Canadian Legion. He served overseas with the Canadian army in the First World War. Survivors include his widow, the former Edith Wakefield; one son, Albert Jack, Paris; four daughters, Mrs. William (Edith) Newstead, Mrs. Don (Margaret) Rush and Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Wilson, all of Paris, and Mrs. Les (Kathleen) Drysdale, R. 7 Galt; two brothers, Fred and Thomas Dore, both in England, three sisters in England and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Dore is resting at the Bruce B. Smith Funeral Home, Grand River and Banfield Streets. Funeral service will be held at St. James’ Anglican Church, Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. H,K.L. Charlton will be in charge. Interment will be in Paris Cemetery.
